UFCW Local 227 is Kentucky 's largest local union with members working in the retail, meatpacking, food processing, manufacturing, health care, and the garment industries. Local 227 has grown through aggressive organizing in Kentucky and Indiana doubling in size since 1993 to 18,000 members.
