Ask the president

I would like to talk to every member personally but it’s almost impossible. I have visited every store and plant we represent but I may not have been able to talk to you. I may have been able to answer your questions at a meeting or social event and many of you have come into the office to see me.

Since becoming President I have even more administrative duties which keep me in the office more than I would like. I have to rely on the union staff and stewards for much of the communication with you but that is not always satisfactory. You can always call me but sometimes your question may not have that kind of urgency or you feel that it may be a dumb question and you would feel embarrassed.

I want to use this technology to stay in touch with you and to be able to answer any questions you have. There are no dumb questions; maybe a lot of people would like the answer to the same question.
