The annual Retiree’s Summer picnic was held on July 14, 2011 -- at Gorman Hall There were 97 members present, down from last years presence. Those who did not attend missed a delicious meal and a chance to meet with former co-workers and friends.
As usual, members brought their favorite covered dish/desert/salad and the Union furnished the meat, drinks and utensils, plus a very nice hall in which to meet.
Lunch served at 12:00 pm (noon) with prayer led by Jim Hatfield. Pledge to the flag was said.
There were three (3) $100.00 door prizes given, and a 50/50 pot of $179.00.
Special thanks to our members who helped get things ready for this event, and to the girls in the office for all their help.
Each month, the Union so graciously furnishes the same for our monthly meetings. If you have not attended any of these luncheon/meetings, you might want to give us a try. Just bring your potluck dish and join your friends and co-workers for a nice day out. It is just one day out of the month, on the second Thursday, 12:00 pm (noon). There will be no meeting in August.
The next meeting will be September 8th. Why not plan to come be with us. WE NEED YOU!
