December 9, 2010 Christmas Party

Happy New Year 2011 |
The annual Retirees Christmas party was held at Gorman Hall on December 9, 2010. There were 140 people present. Last year there were 176 present. Considering the amount of invitations sent out this year (1,700) the turn out was not as expected.
Jesse Harris led us in prayer, as we prepared to have a delicious meal of fried chicken and a variety of pot luck dishes. The food was good, however there was a shortage of desserts. This is something to be addressed in the future.
A special thanks to friends in the office for all their help and support. The hall was decorated very nicely.
Winners of the $100 door prizes were: Martha Loveless, Larry Temple and Evelyn Bowles. Miscellaneous door prizes (brought by Petey Tapp) won by Jessie Prince, James Carter and Cecil Tapp.
Winner of the $300 drawing went to Gene Ferger.
50/50 winner went to Anita O'Hara $180.00.
Several members stayed after to prepare boxes for the needy.
As we enter this New Year, let us be considerate of one another. A kind word goes a long way.
