Lunch served at 12:00 pm (noon).
Prayer led by Don Rough. Pledge led by President Jim Hatfield. Twenty-five members were present.
Mr. Stewart spoke to us about wills and estate planning. He suggested making a list stating where items are put. Do not make life insurance policies to the estate. Designate insurance policies with a name. Leave nothing to the estate. Anyone over 18 yrs of age can make a will. Per Kentucky law, spouses, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren do not have to pay inheritance tax. Protect yourself--Trust the Power of Attorney you appoint. Protect yourself so that they cannot sell property out from under you. If attorney dies, get 2 people familiar with your handwriting to prove that it is yours. Have bank accounts in (example) John or Mary. Everything in OR not AND. Do not buy a LIVING TRUST - Have a simple will.
