Lunch served at 12:00 pm (noon). Prayer led by Jesse Harris.
Meeting came to order at 12:40 pm. Pledge to the flag was led by Don Rough. There were 21 members present. We were pleased to welcome new member, Virginia Pontrich. Hope she continues to join us.
Minutes of April meeting approved as written.
Treasury Report by Petey Tapp - $127.91 in savings - $1,054.18 in checking.
Mary Rucker gave her report on the sick and deceased retirees. Mary also told of the Kroger Credit Union meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 26th at Holy Family Church hall, located on Poplar Level Road. There will be refreshments and door prizes.
New Business:
The union is selling a Fund Raiser Calendar (cost $10.00) to benefit the Danny Dettlinger Charitable Scholarship Fund. One (1) Daily Winner for 30 days the month of November 2010. Winning number taken from Kentucky Lottery "Pick 3" Evening Draw. Winner’s check will be mailed out every Monday for the previous week. You can win more than once if your number is drawn more than once in the month by the Lottery. Retirees Club purchased 25 calendars. Motion by Jim Hatfield, seconded by Beth Munzer.Talked about sponsoring a Bowling team for $48.00 for the scholarship benefit at Rose Bowl Lanes on Jun 26th. Nothing was resolved at this time. Hung jury----
Carol Sue Newman spoke to us about the Car Show sponsored by Local 227 to benefit Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky on the Waterfront for Saturday, May 15th.
Tom Gravatte thanked Retirees for the donation made to the Junior Diabetes booth.
Old Business:
Talked about arrangements help in serving food at the July picnic. Picnic July 8th.
50/50 won by Norma Higgins. $17.00.
