Each year the UFCW awards several scholarships of up to $8,000 each to UFCW members or their unmarried dependents. This year's scholarship application is now available. For deadline information and further details, go to:

  • Local 371, Union, A&P in contract battle

    Citing a large gap in negotiations over wages, health insurance and pension issues, Local 371 of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union has warned that its 1,500 members who work in full- and part-time jobs at Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. stores in Connecticut could be involved in job actions as early as April 10.

  • Blair Mountain approved for placement on National Register of Historic Places 

    Blair Mountain -- site of the historic 1921 coal-mining labor battle -- has been named to the National Register of Historic Places, state officials and advocates for the designation said Monday.
