  • Wal-Mart Workers Press Lawmakers on Union Measure

    Workers for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, came to the Capitol in Washington Thursday to urge passage of legislation that would make it easier for them to form a union.
     
  • Bruno's sells 56 stores in $46M deal

    Bankrupt Bruno's Supermarkets said late Thursday it signed a $45.8 million agreement to sell 56 of its stores to Southern Family Markets.
  • Obama signals big shift in labor policy

    President Barack Obama's decision to tap three veterans of the labor movement for crucial posts signals a strong, if expected, shift from the Bush administration's tilt toward business on labor issues.

  • CEPR STUDY: The Benefits of Unionization

    The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) finds a substantial boost in wages and benefits for union workers across all demographic groups and a particularly large union advantage for workers in low-wage jobs and occupations.
