UFCW 227 members who work at Kroger have access to expanded short term disability, life insurance, and supplemental illness coverage at a great price with premiums conveniently paid through payroll deduction thanks to your union contract.

These benefits are only available to eligible UFCW 227 union members.

Each eligible member should either enroll in coverage or formally decline during the open enrollment period.

How to Enroll

Choose the option that works best for you:

Enroll Online (Fastest Option)

Visit:

  • Username: Your Social Security Number

  • Password: Last 4 digits of your SSN + last 2 digits of your birth year

Enroll with a Paper Application

  • Drop your completed form in the breakroom box

  • Email photos of your application to zak@insbow.com

  • Fax your form to 502-473-0790

How to Decline Coverage

If you do not want coverage, you must still take action:

  • Write “NO” or “DENY” at the top of your form and return it

  • Or call 502-473-1300 to decline

Your Coverage Options

UFCW 227 members can choose from a comprehensive package of voluntary benefits designed to protect your pay and cover unexpected expenses:

Disability Insurance

  • Pays 60% of your income if you’re sick or injured

  • Can be used alongside your existing union disability benefits

Life Insurance

  • Coverage available for employee, spouse, and children

  • Keep your coverage even if you leave Kroger

Accident Insurance

  • Covers injuries on and off the job

  • Pays cash benefits for medical care and recovery

Critical Illness (Cancer) Insurance

  • Pays a lump sum for serious conditions like heart attack, stroke, or cancer

  • Includes a wellness benefit

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

  • Pays cash for hospital stays

  • Example: $1,000 for the first day + daily payments after

  • Helps cover deductibles and out-of-pocket costs
