PRIDE Month Spotlight: UFCW OUTreach

Updated on 6/9/26 which includes:

  • Updated links, including Facebook and Instagram links

  • Graphics of resources for union members

OUTreach is a constituency group within UFCW International with a goal of building mutual support for UFCW and 2SLGBTQ+ UFCW members and workers. Using the common union phrase, an injury to one is an injury to all, as a starting point it should be easy to see why showing up for these workers and all workers is crucial to uphold the basic principles of our union.

OUTreach is made up of UFCW members from locals across North America who work to ensure full equality for 2SLGBTQ+ workers on their jobs and in their unions. If you are a UFCW 227 member and you’d like to join, click here for more information.

Resources available from OUTreach:

Affirming Pronouns and Inclusion Flyers
Official OUTreach guide
International Resources
Transgender Inclusivity Resources
OUTreach PRIDE guide

You can use these resources, including the flyer below, to talk to your fellow members about what we can do to create a more inclusive place for LGBTQIA+ workers. These aren’t big asks, but they make a big impact and none of this is special treatment or getting more than someone else. All workers deserve to be treated with dignity and we should always be pushing to bring everyone along as we work for a better life.

What can you do to help create an inclusive workplace and union? Use this flyer as your guide!

PRIDE month is a great time to build solidarity and power with workers in our communities regardless of age, race, gender, creed, color, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Visit UFCWoutreach.org to find guides, resources, trainings, and scholarships.
