This training is for all union stewards, not just new ones. Whether you’ve been a steward for six months or twenty years, the rules, strategies, and legal landscape around representation continue to matter—and staying sharp protects both you and the members you represent.
The training will cover:
Your legal rights as a steward, including the protections that apply when you are carrying out representation duties
How to effectively represent members in Weingarten and investigatory meetings, including preparation, advocacy, and common management tactics
How to properly write and file grievances that hold up under scrutiny and strengthen the union’s case
The principles of Just Cause, and how they are applied in discipline and discharge cases
Even experienced stewards pick up new tools, refresh critical knowledge, and sharpen their approach. This training ensures we are all operating from the same strong foundation—confident, protected, and effective in defending our coworkers.
