What Is a Proposal Meeting?

A proposal meeting is a union meeting where UFCW 227 members share ideas for what should be included in the next union contract. These proposals form the starting point for negotiations with the employer.

This is one of the most direct ways members can shape bargaining priorities.

Who Can Participate

Proposal meetings are for UFCW 227 members.

If you are not a member, you are not able to submit proposals or participate in this part of the bargaining process. The negotiating committee brings forward proposals that come from members.

How Proposal Meetings Work

  • 🕒 Drop in at any time during the scheduled meeting hours

  • 📝 A Union Representative will help record your proposal

  • ⏱ You do not need to stay for the full meeting

  • 💬 Ask questions and learn more about negotiations while you’re there

Even brief participation helps ensure member priorities are represented.

Members may also be invited to submit proposals through:
