UFCW 227 members who work at Kroger have access to expanded short term disability, life insurance and Illness coverage at a great price and can pay premiums directly from their paycheck thanks to their union contract. Union stewards play an important role in getting the word out and enrollment applications in members’ hands.
This year each steward who was asked and participates in open enrollment will qualify for a $50 gift card! Then based on the percentage of your store that replies to the application (opting out of coverage, opting into coverage, or stewards marking no longer employed on apps as needed) stewards can be entered into drawings for a $1,000, $500, or one of 5 $200 gift cards.
Important Dates:
Enrollment opens- August 12th
Enrollment deadline- August 31st
Policy effective- October 1st
Participating stewards should encourage coworkers to come get their application or hand them out individually. From there each member should either enroll or deny coverage.
To enroll in coverage
Put your completed application in the breakroom box.
Take pictures of your completed application and email it to zak@insbow.com.
Visit https://lfg.benselect.com/kroger. Username is your social security number, and password is last 4 digits of your social plus the last 2 digits of your birth year.

To deny coverage
Write ‘no’ or ‘deny’ at the top and the steward can return it with other applications.
Call 502-473-1300 and let them know you are denying coverage.
